Burger King Kiosk: STORM Device Integration
Kiosk Application & Hardware Integration
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Created methodology on how to structure existing BK kiosks to function with storm interface device in order to not only improve visibility for current users but to make the application accessible to all users.
Problem:
Existing BK kiosks did not have STORM device interface (keypad/audio navigation) for users with disabilities integrated. In addition, the kiosk ordering application did not adhere to ADA requirements as well not design to work with any other navigation method other than touch.
Solution:
Worked with the engineering team and hardware device maker to create a seamless solution for the application to function with the newly integrated hardware, thus enabling people with disabilities to use successfully use the application using storm interface keypad. Wrote instructional information for screen readers and developed a system for contextual audio generation through interface elements. Documented findings from research to create a new in-house standard for kiosk accessibility for Tillster.
